Cancer-Free World, Bring It To Reality

Many people must have empathy for this disease. Since 2000, the awareness of cancer begins to build. February 4th is established globally as World Cancer Day when we all called, whoever and wherever to play a part in creating a cancer-free world.

Well, worldcancerday.org said that Cancer is a critical health and human issue. Here lets we go with the basic knowledge of cancer sourced from American Cancer Society, Inc;

Humans are made up of trillions of cells that over the lifetime normally grow and divide as needed. When cells are abnormal or get old, they usually die, and cancer starts when something goes wrong in this process and your cells keep making new cells and the old or abnormal ones don’t die when they should. As the cancer cells grow out of control, they can crowd out normal cells. This is what makes your body hard to work the way it should. Many types of cancer can be developed anywhere in the human body.

It is more than one-third of cancer cases can be prevented and another third can be cured if detected early and treated properly.

Quoted from worldcancerday.org, by implementing resource-appropriate strategies on the prevention, early detection, and treatment, millions of lives can be saved every year. Therefore, investing in research and innovation, extraordinary breakthroughs in medicine, diagnostics, and scientific knowledge should have been witnessed.

The more people know, the more risk factors are reduced, more increased prevention, and more improving cancer diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and care. Raising the public and political literacy and understanding around cancer are also reduces fear, increases understanding, dispels myths and misconceptions, and changes behaviors and attitudes as well.

Equitable access to cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care can save lives. It is said that more than half of 65 percent of cancer deaths are happening in the least developed parts of the world today. But, It is also happens in a country with higher income, inequities still exist among lower-income, indigenous, immigrant, refugee, and rural communities.

On World Cancer Day, the power of knowledge will be recognized, because every single person has the ability to make a difference, whether large or small, global people can make real progress in reducing the global impact of cancer together. In the 2022 Campaign, the theme is “Close the Care Gap / Realising the problem.”

Quoted from Cancer Research Institute, in the first year of the ‘Close the Care Gap’ campaign, it is all about understanding and recognizing the inequities in cancer care around the globe. This is the year to question the status quo and help reduce stigma, to listen to the perspectives of the people living with cancer and their communities, and let those lived experiences guide our thoughts and actions.

There are several ways to participate and support this campaign. You can share your story about the cancer fighter, create a custom poster about cancer, do a fundraiser, donate, create an event, advocate for action, and do it with Twibbonize.
